Is this what you picture in your mind when you think of Los Angeles?!? It's there!!!
It was such a clear day and 80 degrees. It's March 2013.
The view of the fire road we hiked for first portion...the road wound back and forth through the hills.
A nice break for rest and water...and a little history of the area.
We made it to the top. The elevation is 1,626 feet.
We could definitely "feel" the change in altitude as we hiked.
That's the Hollywood sign behind us.
We took a short cut the last distance of the trail. Not sure that was a good idea. Lots of scooting on our butts- it was so steep.
We spent a short bit of time at the Griffith Park Observatory. It's definitely on our agenda for a return visit.
